Community Groups

No one is meant to navigate the waters of life alone. God created the church to be a helping, loving, and active body that humbly learns together, actively serves together, and lovingly supports each other. TCC's Community Groups provides the opportunity for believers to experience the facade-free, masks-off, genuine Christian walk as small groups learn to confront life's issues together from God's perspective.

What are Community Groups?
Community groups are small groups of 6 to 12 people who meet in homes where real life and real issues are discussed in order to find real answers. Within these groups participants can experience authentic community and spiritual growth through fellowship, worship, Bible study, prayer, encouragement, accountability and service.

Why do Community Groups exist?
Community Groups provide environments where life change can occur that glorifies God by knowing Him intimately, valuing Him uniquely and loving Him completely. This is where we celebrate the good times of life as well as comfort one another during the difficult and disappointing times. It is in this setting where life-long, loving relationships are developed. The best place to learn how to live out the gospel in everyday life is in a group of people who remind each other of God’s grace and help one another apply it to our lives. What better atmosphere could there be to find encouragement and equipping to become a true follower of Christ?

What are the values and goals of Community Groups?

Relationships
While there are many key elements to community groups, our driving force is the building of long-lasting, loving relationships.

Authenticity
The atmosphere of our Community Groups should encourage openness and transparency among members in order to experience freedom from concealing our struggles and hurts.

Safety
Because authenticity is necessary for a successful group, it must also be a safe environment free of the fears of broken confidentiality and gossip.

Care
Community Groups are the best place to care and be cared for.

Commitment
Commitment is often portrayed as undesirable and to be avoided. But, in a Biblical community it is foundational. Investing for your own benefit and the good of others is necessary.

Service
The primary vehicle for TCC outreach will be our Community Groups. Each group will plan evangelistic and mercy ministry projects. What could be better than serving side by side with life-long friends?

Multiplication
Not one group should begin without the goal of growing by multiplication. Creating new groups from existing ones in order to minister to more people is always our desire.

Priority
Community Groups are the heartbeat of Trinity Community Church. Because we are centered around them, the way you truly belong to TCC is to belong to a Community Group.

When and where do Community Groups meet?
Each Community Group decides for itself the day and time that best meets their needs. Groups will be located in a specific geographical area in order to support those who live nearby. As that group becomes too large it will multiply itself in the area with the goal of creating numerous groups.

How long do Community Groups last?
Our groups begin with an 8-week commitment. This gives the group an opportunity to get to know each other more deeply. After this initial 8 week period, the group decides on whether they want to extend their commitment up to a year.

If you have experienced the small group dynamic before, you know what a help it can be. Or perhaps you have never enjoyed a small group as we have described. Whatever the case, we welcome you in the name of Jesus to Trinity Community Groups and hope you will find your home with us.
